April 2002 News and Notes

Tracksounds' New Face is Launched - April 25, 2002

As you have probably noticed, Tracksounds has been a little idle lately.  Well, now you can see at least a part of the reason.  The site has undergone some significant upgrading!  Along with two full reviews being posted (Attack of the Clones and Windtalkers), there have been several significant changes made to the layout and design of the site this weekend.  Actually, its been under development for weeks and weeks. :)  The upgrades have been done to help with faster page loading, and to get more information to you, the visitor, easier and quicker.  Changes are still taken place on a good number of older pages, so your patience is appreciated!  Enjoy!

Ice Age Artwork and Info - April 22, 2002

Ice Age by David NewmanICE AGE
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Music Composed by David Newman

Twenty thousand years ago, the Earth was being overrun by glaciers, and creatures everywhere were fleeing the onslaught of the new Ice Age. In this
time of peril, we meet the weirdest herd of any Age: a fast talking but dim sloth named Sid; a moody woolly mammoth named Manny; a devilish
saber-toothed tiger named Diego; and an acorn-crazy saber-toothed squirrel known as Scrat. This quartet of misfits unexpectedly, and reluctantly, comes together in a quest to return a human infant to his father. Braving boiling lava pits, treacherous ice caves, freezing temperatures and a secret, evil plot, these
"sub-zeros" become the world's first heroes!

The gargantuan score by David Newman is a highlight of the film and is expected to be a best-selling soundtrack. It's a wild adventure, exciting and fun. Newman's score is one of the finest of the year and has been much in demand since the film opened!  The anticipated release date is 5/14/02.

Making its CD debut, ROLLERBALL features deluxe packaging showcasing the stunning portfolio of artwork created for the film by the legendary Bob Peak!

Changing Lanes Artwork and Info - April 6, 2002

Changing Lanes by David Arnold

Music Composed by
David Arnold

Two men, two cars, one accident - a minor rush-hour fender-bender on New York City's crowded FDR Drive. From this chance collision springs a powerful domino effect that turns two strangers into vicious adversaries, each determined to annihilate the other by any means possible. It's New York in the 21st century, and a person's life can be completely decimated by a well-placed phone call or the simple touch of "Enter" on a computer keyboard.

On his way to court to represent his high-powered law firm, Gavin Banek (Ben Affleck) is weaving through heavy traffic. In a different lane, is Doyle Gipson (Samuel L. Jackson), not a lawyer, but on his way to another courtroom to prove he is a changed man and a good father worthy of the right to see his children. They are two men desperate to succeed for very different reasons - one is struggling to reach the top of his career, the other is struggling away from rock bottom. And now, a minor accident will change the lives of both of these men, systematically revealing how very thin the mask of human decency is, and how close beneath the surface lurks the beast within us all.  The gritty, urban score is by British composer David Arnold. Arnold's previous scores include Independence Day, Stargate and Shaft.

Changing Lanes opens nationwide on over 2000 screens on April 12.  Scheduled soundtrack release date is 04/30/02
